The X-Files Comic

Based on the Fox TV series created by Chris Carter, Stefan Petrucha's original stories for The X-Files comic, from Topps, are still regarded as the single best adaptation of a TV series to the graphic storytelling medium.

During his two and a half year tenure, he contributed sixteen monthly issues, an annual, two digests, a graphic novel and four or five one-shot specialty stories for this incredibly popular series, with art by Charles Adlard, Kim Thompson and Miran Kim.

Highlights:

  • 5  trade paperback collections published in US and the UK
  • Reprinted in 10 languages
  • First issue now sells for $100
  • Wrote first original comic to appear in TV Guide
  • Appeared on TV, radio and in various magazines
  • Made the Wizard Top Ten Comic Writer's list
  • Voted #1 Writer and top two stories in SFX, a British magazine

JASON HENDERSON REVIEWS:

Petrucha's X-File work has been reviewed in a variety of venues, including the NY Daily News, but writer Jason Henderson wrote the most exhaustive critiques, not only covering every story Petrucha wrote for the series but also catching and chronicling many of the references and recurring themes. They are reproduced here.
